Tom's Bio
Tom has been involved with the sweeping and hearth industry for over 40 years. After volunteering in the Peace Corps, Tom and Esther started as a firewood provider and in 1978 moved into a chimney sweep and repair company. Our services included sweeping, relining, oil tech burner servicing, and in the late '80s, working as a tech adviser for a Copperfield Chimney Supply, which is how Estoban ended up in Iowa. Tom has been a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild for 39 years, served as an NCSG board of directors as head of the Tech Committee, and was part of the NCSG Safety Team, which swept and videoed scanned the chimneys at the White House in 1989. Tom also served on the board of directors for the Chimney Safety Institute of America as Treasurer and is a CSIA Certified Sweep holding the #210 badge. He has been a speaker at many National Sweeping conventions and state sweeping conventions. Along with our products, Tom has been on several programs with the PBS Show “This Old House,” ABC’s 20/20 on a Carbon Monoxide story, CNN, and featured in several magazines and newspapers. |
