Kwick-Lock™ Rods for Inspection & Scanning
$40.00
Kwick-lock rods are designed for inspection, scanning/scoping only. If you already own rods, please check out our rod adaptor page.
Kwik-Lock rods are meant to follow a thin-to-thick method, meaning you start with the one 1.2" rod, followed by 2 to 3 5/8ths, followed by as many 7/8ths to finish the job.
- 1/2" in dia, rod - called the Starter Rod - attaches to the back of the camera to help guide it around curves, offsets, and when 2 are paired with Spring adaptor, makes thimbles easy.
- 5/8" in dia. rod - this rod is the middle of flexible to barely flexing. It's meant to give you some oomph as you ascend higher.
- You can skip the starter and go straight to a 5/8" if, when you look up from the firebox, you see daylight.
- 7/8" in dia. rod- the Oomph rod. This rod has almost no flex, and its job is to keep everything in front of it upright. You can go 40ft with these rods, without fear of sagging. These are also perfect for scanning from roof to hearth.

Kwick-Lock Rods
We got into the rod-making business after we started making cameras. We found that rods that screw together are great for sweeping, but when you add the weight of the chimney camera, the rods can "un-screw," and then they and the camera come crashing down the chimney. This is why we suggest that if you buy a Chim-Scan® that you have "locking" rods.
Our Kwick-Lock™ Rods, Caddies, and Kits are made in the U.S. at our location. We make sure that every rod will do its job well. We use a modified air hose fitting for our rods; they're easy to put together, and they 'lock' so that they wouldn't come apart in the chimney.
