Our company has been involved with chimney inspections and evaluations for nearly 30 years. Within that time, we have combined our field experience into a ready to use form for guiding the field tech through interior chimney inspections using International Residential Codes (I.R.C.) and National Fire Protection Agency (N.F.P.A. ) Code Book 211, as the reference for the chimney defects.

The field notes provide the tech a place to collect their findings found within the interior of the chimney. Liner section by liner section, joint by joint, the tech can code the form and organize the photos to help them write a detailed report of their finding to the customer. We have also added 17 most commonly found defects with the chimneys across the nation and arrange text for the tech to consider while writing the reports.

This form will act as an add-on report while doing either a Level 1 or Level 2 inspection as recommended by NFPA 211 Chapter 14. (2006 Edition) The form also has a place for general information and an area for added comments for those times when more information is needed. A diagram is provided to help describe the location of a defect relative to the structure.

The reports can be either in two part NCR paper or on DVD using Microsoft Word as the template. And the copy can be added to the auto text function for easy text placement in text boxes or on the document.
